TQUK Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (QCF) - 1 Day

 

The TQUK Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (QCF) is intended as an introduction to moving and handling activities for those starting work, returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling, as well as being a suitable qualification for refresher training. Learners gaining this qualification will understand that moving and handling must be carried out correctly and will recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations do not set any weight limits for lifting and carrying loads and amendments in 2002 now require employees to have adequate or appropriate knowledge or training in order to make assessments to judge whether safe moving is possible.

Course content

Understand the reasons for safe manual handling - Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety - Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety - Be able to apply safe manual handling principles.

 

Course duration?

It is recommended that this qualification is delivered over a single day. This delivery programme may be adjusted in accordance with learners’ needs and/or local circumstances.

 

Assessment and Certification?

This qualification is currently assessed by practical demonstration of competence in addition to a Multiple Choice Examination (MCE) or oral/written questioning.
